terracotta, heavily weathered, with very bright gold leaf paint on the inside surface. In the final sequence of the film, Indy uses it to save his father, Henry Jones Sr. (played by Sean Connery) via its “Divine healing properties”. Made of resin, the prop was so designed to withstand the tumble down into the chasm that opened up beneath the Great Seal on the floor of the Grail Temple in the film. An icon of the film and the key plot device, this wonderful artifact is an important and instantly recognizable piece of Hollywood history.
